Preamble to the Constitution and Bylaws
In 1874 a group of twenty-five women eager to educate themselves and their peers formed a study club in the city of Lansing. Nearly 150 years later, the Lansing Woman's Club endures, carrying on the mission established by its founding members.
The Lansing Woman's Club is a private club that meets approximately seven months a year, from October through April. Members attend weekly meetings, at which one member presents a research paper on a topic of her choosing. After a brief question and answer period, members enjoy afternoon tea.
